Reflection

Matthew 6:33 gives a simple direction for moments when life feels filled with competing priorities, worries, and responsibilities. Jesus calls us to seek God's kingdom and His righteousness first, reminding us that our relationship with God should remain at the center of our lives.

It is easy to become consumed by what we need, what we want, or what might happen tomorrow. Work, finances, relationships, responsibilities, and personal goals can quickly fill our thoughts. Yet Jesus invites us to look beyond immediate concerns and place God first.

Seeking God does not mean that your responsibilities no longer matter. Instead, it changes the way you approach them. When God becomes your priority, your decisions can be shaped by prayer, Scripture, wisdom, and a desire to live according to His ways.

Matthew 6:33 also speaks to the anxious heart. You may not know how every need will be met or how every situation will unfold. But you can choose to trust God one day at a time rather than allowing tomorrow's uncertainties to control today.

Sometimes seeking God first means starting your morning with prayer. Sometimes it means choosing obedience when an easier path is available. It can also mean surrendering a plan that you have been holding tightly and asking God to lead you.

When you put God first, you are reminded that your life is not ultimately held together by your own ability to control everything. You can work faithfully, make wise decisions, and still leave the outcome in God's hands.

Takeaway: Seek God first, trust His direction, and let your priorities flow from your relationship with Him.
